Who We Are

Calvary Mondoli is a multi-ethnic, non-denominational Christian community (church) established on the 17th January, 2022 in the city of Guwahati. We are a body of believers with our unique stories celebrating life together by sharing common beliefs which are grounded in Biblical understanding. We are a group of imperfect people, who are renewed everyday in the perfection of Jesus by being the 'Salt' & 'Light' of this city.

All are welcome to join this fellowship irrespective of your religious affiliation/ background/ community.

Our Belief

1. God

WE BELIEVE God is the Creator, Sovereign over creation. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. [Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14]

2. JESUS CHRIST

WE BELIEVE Jesus Christ is the Son of God, equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead in bodily form on the third day, demonstrating His power over sin and death. After appearing to many, He ascended into Heaven. Now, Christians await His return when He will take us to be with Him. 3. HOLY SPIRIT

WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

4. BIBLE

WE BELIEVE the Bible is God’s Word. Through the Bible God reveals Himself – His character and His will – to human beings. Penned by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Bible is truth and without error in what it intends to say. As such, the Bible is the supreme source of truth for what Christians believe and how we live. When properly understood and practiced, the Bible defines love and leads us to love God and people.

5. MANKIND & SIN

WE BELIEVE human beings are made in the image of God (e.g. spiritually, volitionally and emotionally). As image-bearers of God, every person matters to God. We are God’s supreme purpose for creation. Yet, because of Adam’s sin, we are a fallen people. Human beings will always be bent toward fighting God. Sin separates mankind from God. Therefore, everyone needs a supernatural Savior.

6. HEAVEN & HELL

WE BELIEVE that Heaven and Hell are real. Our deepest longings are to live in Heaven, the home of righteousness where everything is perfect. Heaven and Hell are not just places where people go after they die, they are choices humans make every day. To choose Heaven is to choose to walk with Jesus fully. To choose Hell is to choose to live independently from Jesus. Hell is eternal destination for all who would prefer to live as kings in their own country rather than as servants in the house of God.

7. BAPTISM & LORD'S SUPPER

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordained by the Lord Jesus himself. The former is connected with entrance into the new covenant community, the latter with ongoing covenant renewal. WE BELIEVE baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism is the public declaration that one has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Baptism was commanded by Jesus and practiced by the New Testament church. Biblically, whenever someone believed and repented, they were baptized.

Our Story

Saurav sensed a calling to start a church in the city of Guwahati in the year 2017. He prayed for God to clarify this vision & was led to start this church called Calvary Mondoli in the year 2022 in a small rented hotel building in the VIP road area of Six mile. His wife partnered with him in this calling & together, they are ministering to the broken & the lost, to make Him known to a whole new generation of seekers who would find Him & be found. Calvary strives to serve the local community in various ways, starting from giving to the under-pivilegded, mending broken families through counselling, providing life skills training, making disciple makers and mentoring young adults who are going through relationship & marriage issues.

Our Vision

To model Christ, building faith-based multi-ethnic communities who will disciple others to

carry God’s mission to entire North-east India & beyond

1.To Model Christ - To embody Christ in our actions, in our day to day living. Let people

see that we do what we say.

2. Faith-based - the Bible says, that we live by faith not by sight (2 Cor 5:7, Rom 1:17). We

live by the things we do not see yet we believe in the hope of eternal life & rejoice.

Every step of our life should reveal faith which will ultimately produce good works

(James 2:20 & 26) as faith without work is dead.

3. Multi-ethnic - Our congregation should display the great multitude according to Rev

7:9 with all tribes and tongues coming together and experiencing heaven on earth.

4. Disciple Making - This will be the hallmark of our community; every believer is equipped

with the resources so that he is capable of discipling someone -a multiplication

movement resulting in churches planting churches.
